Mamrod Magaya, the leader of popular apostolic choral group, said they were getting stronger every day and would never starve their legion of followers.
“We are excelling to greater heights as our new album’s reception is overwhelming. We have maintained our legacy because we are very loyal to our fans and we make sure that every year our fans have something to smile at,” he said.
Magaya added that their aim was to minister through music, saying it was a powerful way of spreading the word of God.
Tracks on the album include Unaniko, Pindirai, Poresai Vanorwara, Ndiswededzei, Muri Mwari, Zuva Iro, Tiende Kudenga and Sarudza Yako. Despite death robbing them of three founding members Timothy, Wiseman and Khumbulani Magaya and the departure of Samson Tawengwa, who formed his own group in 2010, Vabati VaJehovah who literally pioneered apostolic choral music, look destined for dizzy heights if their latest offering is anything to go by.

“I know each group has its up and downs, but as a more responsible group we stop at nothing and we are riding higher than ever. Timothy, Wiseman, Khumbulani and Tawengwa are no longer with us, but the current team is ready to direct the ship to its final destination,” said Magaya.
Vabati VaJehovah, a 12-member outfit, was formed in 1999. Unfortunately Wiseman Magaya died in 2007 and in 2009 Timothy Magaya was hit by a haulage truck at Rosalum shopping centre along Harare-Masvingo Road while coming from the Beatrice farming area where he had gone to collect firewood. Khumbulani died last year. All were buried in Mhondoro.
The group has won NAMA and ZIMA with the latest being Zimpraise Legendary award they received a few months ago.
