Mathe competed against 84 other contestants drawn from all over the world and it was Philippines’ beauty queen Mutya Datul who was crowned Miss Supranational 2013 at the majestic Minsk Sports Palace.
Datul walked away $25 000 richer.
The 23-year-old, who was Miss Personality at the Miss Zimbabwe 2011, was chosen to represent the country by Fingers Modelling Academy, who are the license holder in Zimbabwe.
Sarah Mpofu of Fingers Modelling Academy said they had chosen Mathe because she was one of the few models who were ready for the contest.

Mpofu said although Mathe did not make it into the top 20, she was happy with her performance.
“She did okay in that she was tipped as a top contender, but eventually only Miss Gabon was the only one from Africa in the top 20,” she said.
“I am happy and proud of her.”
Mpofu said Mathe would for now go back to China where she is currently based while they start their search for next year’s representative.
“We will be working closely with her because she now has first-hand experience since she is the only one to have represented Zimbabwe coupled with the international exposure she already has,” Mpofu said.
Mathe was born and bred in Bulawayo, growing up in Matsheumhlope. She studied at Fatima High School before enrolling at BES and Orion colleges.
She started modelling at the tender age of four, but professionally started at 18.
After she was dethroned in 2011, the beauty queen gave up modelling in the country and skipped to pursue international modeling in South Africa and China where she is currently staying.
