Addressing journalists at the commissioning of the first batch of the equipment comprising eight graders and 15 tipper trucks at Galloway in Norton last Friday, Zaha director-general Killer Zivhu said the equipment was sourced from XGMA Zimbabwe.
“With the state-of-the-art of equipment that we now have, we are going to improve our working pace in Norton and Chipinge. The equipment will go a long way for us to finish, expand and start new projects in all corners of the country so that Zimbabweans had access to the basic need of shelter,” Zivhu said.
“We have signed a memorandum of understanding [MoU] with XGMA Zimbabwe, a company that specialises in selling of earth-moving machines who give favourable deals to upcoming land developers like Zaha.”
Zivhu paid homage to Zaha members for not dumping the organisation after it lost millions of dollars in the collapsed Allied Bank. “After losing about $1,8 million, Zaha would have collapsed, but because of our resilient management, we managed to move on and today, we are talking of acquiring new equipment, showing how committed we are in building houses across the nation,” he said.

Speaking at the same occasion, XGMA Zimbabwe finance and administration manager George Maposa said his company was happy with the MoU they have signed with Zaha.
“We are determined to work towards land developing and [are] open to anyone who is into land developing,” he said.
In February, Zaha and ZB Bank entered into a strategic alliance aimed at availing housing stands and affordable mortgages to thousands of homeseekers in the country.
As part of the deal, ZB provides the required banking services under the facility and arranging the opening of savings and fixed deposit accounts for interested members.
