BY DESMOND CHINGARANDE HARARE mayor Jacob Mafume’s trial has been set for May 2.
He is facing charges of criminal abuse of office before magistrate Vongai Muchuchuti-Guwuriro.
Mafume, represented by Tawanda Zhuwarara, is being charged for awarding Rotina Mafume, his sister and Rutendo Muvuti, a workmate residential stands when they were not on the council waiting list.
Zhuwarara asked for further particulars saying the State should provide the exact subsection and paragraph of section 174 mentioned on the charge sheet.
He is also requesting the State to provide the source of the alleged duties of the accused mentioned in the charge sheet including full details of procedure and by-laws he violated.
