A SOLDIER appeared in court facing a charge of armed robbery.

Raymond Negomo Dzapasi (37), who is stationed at Inkomo Barracks, is being jointly charged with Joseph Makoni for an armed robbery involving R20 000 and US$3 000.

They appeared before Harare magistrate Tilda Mazhande who advised them to apply for bail at the High Court.

Prosecutor Anesu Chirenje said on November 6 last year, the duo robbed Antony Njanike (32) of the money after threatening to shoot him.

It is alleged that the two armed themselves with blank pistols and went to Huruyadzo shopping centre in Chitungwiza, where they manhandled Njanike who was seated in his car.
