HIGHER and Tertiary Education minister, Fredrick Shava, has hailed Management Training Bureau (MTB) for undergoing significant transformation over the years, demonstrating commitment to excellence and adaptability.
Speaking during MTB’s 40th anniversary, Shava said the institution had offered skills training and professional development, bridging the skills gap in various sectors of the economy.
“As we celebrate this milestone, let us reflect on the MTB’s humble beginnings. Established in 1984 through the Zimbabwe Manpower Planning and Development Act (Chapter 28:02), MTB has undergone significant transformation over the years,” he said.
“From its early days as a division of ZIMDEF to its current status as a standalone commercial entity, MTB has continually adapted its curriculum over the years, ensuring that industry, commerce and the public sector are equipped with the skills necessary to function effectively to contribute to the realisation of our national vision.
“I note with appreciation that MTB has remained resolute on its mandate to provide critical skills training and professional development to bridge the skills gaps in all sectors of the economy. MTB has continually adapted its curriculum to equip industry, commerce and the public sector with essential skills.”
MTB celebrated its 40th anniversary on Thursday last week, marking four decades of commitment to professional development and skills training in Zimbabwe.

He urged MTB to expand its global partnerships to enhance its training programmes and share best practices internationally.
Shava encouraged MTB to embrace innovation and remain responsive to the evolving needs of the economy.
