INSURANCE Council Of Zimbabwe (ICZ) finance manager Osward Tutai has appeared at the Harare Magistrates Courts on a US$371 000 theft charge.

Tutai was represented by Steven Chikotora when he appeared before  magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa on Tuesday, and he was granted US$300 bail. The matter was remanded to October 25.

It is State’s case that sometime between January 2022 to May 31 this year , Tutai allegedly withdrew US$371 610 from the council’s Stanbic  bank account and converted it to own use.

State prosecutor Lancelot Mutsokoti said as cover up for the alleged offence, Tutai would then make some fake vouchers purporting to have paid individuals and companies for various services.
