ZESA Holdings spokesperson George Manyaya last week bagged the best Public Relations Manager of the Year award at a Marketers Association of Zimbabwe (MAZ) awards ceremony held in Harare.
Manyaya was honoured for spearheading Zesa Holdings’ rebranding exercise which saw the power utility improve on its customer relations at a time the country is facing serious power challenges.
He also doubles as Zimbabwe National Road Administration (Zinara) board chairperson.
At Zinara, he has managed to come up with initiatives and openness on disbursement of rehabilitation funds to various road authorities.
The runner up was Cottco corporate communications executive Constance Makoni who is transforming and reinforcing the Cottco brand.
Other people who were honoured at the MAZ ceremony were Kudakwashe Chiutsi of Pacific Cigarettes who won a gold medal under the Young Achievers and Upcoming Marketer of the Year category.

The winners also included Agricultural Marketing Authority chief executive officer Clever Isaya, WestProp CEO Ken Sharpe and Consumer Protection Commission chief executive Zororo Muranda.
