THE former Clerk of Parliament Austin Zvoma was buried in his Mhondoro-Mubaira rural home yesterday following a State-assisted funeral.
Zvoma succumbed to cancer at a Harare clinic on Saturday.
Family spokesperson Godwin Chigwedere yesterday said: “We are about to lay him to rest here in Mhondoro.
“The Speaker of Parliament Jacob Mudenda, Clerk of Parliament Kennedy Chokuda and former Cabinet minister Prisca Mupfumira are some of the people who attended the burial,” he said.
In a statement yesterday, the Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage ministry said the body of the late Joshua Malinga will be taken to Large City Hall in Bulawayo for a send-off ceremony which is expected to begin at 8am and end at 12 noon.
Malinga, who was an adviser to President Emmerson Mnangagwa, a Zanu PF politburo member and former Bulawayo mayor, will be buried at the National Heroes Acre in Harare tomorrow.

His body left Doves Funeral Parlour for his home at 1 Brooke Rd, Richmond, Bulawayo.
The body will be flown to Harare this afternoon where it shall lie in State at Charles Gumbo Barracks before burial tomorrow.
Mnangagwa will officiate at the burial.
