FOUR members of a Lutumba family in Beitbridge driving from a funeral died in a car crash 40 kilometres north of the border town after their vehicle burst a rear tyre and overturned.
Officer commanding Beitbridge Police District Chief Superintendent, Tichaona Nyongo, confirmed the tragedy but did not give further details.
'It is confirmed that four died at the scene according to traffic police," Nyongo said.
It is understood the family of a well-known carpenter known as Mhlanga of Lutumba had gone to Chipinge for a funeral.
They met their fate 20 kilometres from their destination.
Four died and some were injured following the accident.
