GOVERNMENT has declared December 27 a public holiday, saying the decision was made in view of the unique circumstances around the 2022 calendar.
In General Notice 851 of 2021, titled Public Holidays in 2022, Home Affairs minister Kazembe Kazembe said: “It is hereby declared that in terms of section 2(1) of the Public Holidays and Prohibition of Business Act [Chapter 10:21], the days listed in the schedule will be public holidays in 2022. This list does not include any days which the President may declare to be public holidays in terms of sections 2(2) of the Public Holidays and Prohibition of Business Act [Chapter 10:21].”
The days listed as holidays include Tuesday 27 December, 2022.
