BY OBERT SIAMILANDU A 42-YEAR-OLD Shurugwi man died on Tuesday after being assaulted by two men who accused him of stealing a torch.
Midlands Police spokesperson inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the incident.
“The incident took place in Mutemeri Village, where the deceased Douglas Mafuta was allegedly assaulted by two brothers, Wellington and Godknows Mada,” Mahoko said and appealed to members of the public to respect the sanctity of life and refrain from using violence to solve disputes.

Mahoko said the victim, identified as Amon Ntini of Munyasa Village under Chief Sogwala, died upon admission at Gweru Provincial Hospital.
He appealed to those with information that might lead to the arrest of the perpetrator to contact their nearest police station.
