BULAWAYO-BASED rising R “n” B gospel artiste Matthew “Devotion C” Chishumba, recently released a single titled Nhliziyo Yami recorded at PlayOn Studios.
Devotion C told NewsDay Life & Style that he takes music as a calling.
“Some years ago in 2005 while praying on a Friday, a burden was laid in my heart to reach out, the name devotion came and I was shown vision in music and for me to venture into music it was after a prophecy,” he said.
“I was told that I was going to be a great musician bringing many to Christ and in a dream, God spoke to me of what I am supposed to do majoring on four things namely; repentance, salvation, kingdom of God and the coming of Christ.”
Devotion C who has recorded 16 songs said he has a burden to see people saved.
“It is just awesome that people are inspired with my music as I have received emails from various individuals as far as Europe saying my music ministers to them so much,” he said.
“Most of my songs express the mind of God or His will for mankind, how we should together as a nation trust in Him. I have shared the stage with prominent artistes such as Innocent Gakala, Blessing Shumba, Juntale and Minister Mahendere on various platforms and at Spirit Praise Zimbabwe.”

Devotion C said some of his songs that have received airplay on local radio stations include Stretch Your Hand to the Lord, Nhliziyo Yami, It’s Okay God by My Side, Anehanya Neni and Handineti.
He said his music is available on buddie beats application, YouTube and sound cloud.
Apart from being a musician Devotion C offers music tutorials that include vocal coaching, music consultancy and song writing skills both theory and practical. ENDS
