A TEACHER at Swazi High in Mzingwane district, Thembisani Ndlovu has penned educational poems on COVID-19 stirred by the increase in new infections and a spike in the number of citizens succumbing to the virus.

In an interview with NewsDay Life & Style, Ndlovu said the poems  would be turned into a short anthology.

“My poems are educational and acknowledge our President Emmerson Mnangagwa, Health and Child Care ministry, World Health Organisation (WHO) for kick-starting COVID-19 vaccination programme.

“The poems carry the message on the importance of vaccination against COVID-19, wearing of masks correctly covering mouth and nose, hand washing after visiting public places, practising social distancing, avoiding crowded places, hugs and hand shaking, staying at home and avoiding unnecessary movement, self-isolation, behaviour change so as to stop the spread of the virus and many other issues,” he said.

Ndlovu said through his poems he sought to educate the citizens about the importance of vaccinations and how behaviour change can help in stopping the spread of the virus.
