GWERU-BASED gospel musician Adamson Jeketera has embraced the online music space to connect with his audience as technology takes centre stage in the music industry.
The singer, who started compiling gospel songs in 1994 before recording his first album in 2015 titled The Final Battle, showcases his artistic work on digital platforms such as Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music and Boom Play, among others.
The move has seen Jeketera being rated among the top artistes in the Midlands capital to master the online music platforms to share their music.
“Despite the challenges being faced by the music industry, I have remained committed and embraced the digital revolution to spread the word of God through music,” Jeketera told NewsDay Life & Style in an interview.
“I have four albums and the first one, The Final Battle, has nine tracks and is available on YouTube. The second, The Conflict of a Secret Court, is also available on the same platform.
“The third, Restoration Guides, is available on Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Boom Play and other digital stores.

“My fourth album, titled Singles Collection, is on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Spotify, iTunes and Boom Play. You can also find my music on Google Play Music.”
The musician said there was no room for complacency as the music landscape took a new dimension in the era of digital technology.
“The creation, consumption and sharing of melodies has evolved in the digital age, hence as artistes, we have to be innovative,” he said.
A mentor, life coach and counsellor at Campus Crusade for Christ International Life Ministry Zimbabwe, Jeketera said his music career began in the church choir and added that his songs featured “catchy melodies, uplifting lyrics and a mix of acoustic and electronic instrumentation”.
“My music calls for critical positive thinking and action,” he said.
“It focuses on spiritual warfare, triumph of faith, introspection as well as offering guidance and encouragement to those seeking spiritual restoration,” Jeketera added.
