GOSPEL music prodigy and keyboard wizard Munyaradzi Munodawafa has dropped his eighth album titled Altar Vs Altar.

The eight-track album was launched in Harare recently, with the event being attended by several gospel musicians who include Mechanic Manyeruke, Rumbidzai Zvirikuzhe and Innocent Gakaka, among others.

The man behind the Zodzo hit engaged Congolese musician Dispatch on one of the songs.

“It's a dream come true, the album is finally out and I am excited,” Munodawafa told NewsDay Life & Style.

“The response from my fans is refreshing. I had to engage Dispatch and did a song with a rhumba feel, which is doing well on airwaves.”

Some of the songs on the album, which was produced by Blessing Masanga, include Ndinovimba Nemi, Taurai Mwari and I Declare.

Munodawafa played the keyboard on all the songs.

A worship song Zita, which the talented musician did with his friends, is already trending and topping the local gospel charts.

“The album consists of few worship songs. I am happy that the track Zita has captured many souls,” he said.

Munodawafa made a name on the local gospel music scene after releasing his first album Mwari Anoona, which carried the hit song Shandisa Chipo Chako in 1998 at the age of 10.

He did other albums, Farai Munashe (2006), Zvinouraya (2010), Zvava Nezodzo (2012) and Chikwata Chinokunda (2014), Step YeNyasha (2017) and Munyaradzi (2022).
