GOSPEL diva Dorcas Moyo says problems that arise in daily lives have prompted her to use music as a tool to fight societal immoralities.Moyo told NewsDay Life & Style that a lot is happening, and her desire is to influence change and impact people to repent.
“Issues that vary from infidelity, ritual killings, immorality and drug abuse are a concoction that prompts me into action. My desire to influence positive change among humanity and to multiply the population of heaven catapults me to go on preaching the gospel through music,” she said.
Moyo said she was an artiste that sought to do well in her lane, prayer and fasting being major ingredients in her quest to be recognised. She urged fellow artistes not to take fans or their followers for granted and to have respect for the art of other artistes.
Moyo recalled an unpleasant memory when she was cast out of a worship team, adding that her success in the music industry was indeed a testimony to challenging stereotypes and barriers imposed against individuals.
“At one time I was ejected from the praise and worship team having been deemed a misfit. It ate me up as I was literally jettisoned from my passion. I find it difficult to forget the incident and it remains as one of my top testimonies,” Moyo said.
The gospel diva said her music had evolved with trends in the contemporary world without digressing much from her groove.
