The Devera Ngwena Jazz Band leader recently brought home his 37th album titled Zideverangwena Madhara Madhara and promised to return and market the album through live shows.

NewsDay caught up with the Solo na Mutsai hitmaker over the Easter holidays and the musician talked about his fortune down south.

“We will be officially launching my latest album at the end of April in South Africa and I will be back to Zimbabwe to take it to the people.

“I will arrange with Diamond Studios who will be marketing and distributing my album. I will be coming back home sooner than many of you expect,” he said.

Moyo relocated to South Africa in 2004 and since then, he only performed on local soil in 2007 at a gala in Beitbridge.

“I moved to South Africa when things became bad for us musically. But since then I am still into music, having recorded two albums down there, with some having Venda songs,” he said.

Moyo, a widower, said he wasfaring better than his last days in Zimbabwe. His wife passed on in 2008.

“It is better that side than here. We were among the first Zimbabwean groups to sell music in Thohoyandou (South Africa). If I was still in Zimbabwe, I do not think I would have afforded to send my kids to university,” he said.
