NEDBANK Zimbabwe scooped several awards at the Women in Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Awards held last Friday, underlining its status as one of the top institutions. The awards honoured women who have implemented GCR practices in their organisations.
Nedbank Zimbabwe managing director Sibongile Moyo and her Old Mutual Life Assurance Company Zimbabwe counterpart Rutendo Magorimbo were the joint winners of the Chief Executive Officer of the Year Award.
Nedbank Zimbabwe’s business information security officer Audrey Udzembwe took home the Information Security Officer of The Year Award.
The Financial Crime Manager of the Year Award went to Nedbank Zimbabwe’s financial crime compliance manager Hazel Zinyama.
Viola Pamela Ndlovu, Nedbank Zimbabwe head of compliance, won the Ethics and Compliance Champion of the Year Award.
Other winners of the night included Old Mutual Zimbabwe chief risk officer Eunice Mujekenyeki who took home the Chief Risk Officer of the Year Award.

Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe information security head Tarisayi Chitare won the Chief Information Security Officer of the Year Award.
The Chief Technology Officer of the Year Award was jointly won by the IT and ICT heads of Gateway Construction and Minerva Risk Advisors, respectively, Francine Marimbi and Rumbidzai Ninga.
NMB Bank Limited, AFC Commercial Bank and POSB compliance heads Moira Nyasha Mapundu, Portia Chiwetu and Patience Chinomona, respectively, won the Chief Compliance of the Year Award.
Cicada Services Zimbabwe ESG systems manager Jenna Van Niekerk scooped the ESG Officer of the Year Award.
ZB Financial Holdings Risk analyst Ifeoma Viginia Obi won the Risk Analyst of the Year Award.
Enterprise Risk Management Institute of Zimbabwe co-hosted the awards with the Institute of Corporate Governance and had several sponsors.
The awards are meant to inspire women to take on leadership positions and engage in strategic decision-making.
“Having this event in partnership with Enterprise Risk Management Institute of Zimbabwe is so special. We are thrilled to be here tonight as we celebrate the outstanding women who had managed to achieve a lot on various experts of governance risk and compliance,” Women in GRC chairperson Lucy Murowa said.
