President Emmerson Mnangagwa is expected to lead a re-election bid during the elective congress amid speculative reports that he might be challenged by his deputy, Constantino Chiwenga.
The exercise, which should be completed less than six months before a general election, according to the Constitution, was last done in 2008.
“We liken President Mnangagwa to Moses because he has taken people from a certain point to another level. We are coming out of a lot of challenges.”
