RAYMEG Consultants Private Limited, a diversified group with a footprint in Zimbabwe, South Africa, Kenya, and Somalia, has once again set a benchmark in the country's cuniculture industry with the launch of rabbit biltong.

This new offering comes on the heels of other unique products, including rabbit polony and rabbit sausages, all firsts in the country’s rabbit meat market.

Paidamoyo Nyamakanga, Raymeg's executive director, said in an interview that the company's mission is to popularise rabbit meat by making it accessible and appealing through a variety of innovative products.

The company recently introduced a diverse range of rabbit-based meals—such as rabbit meat with sadza, roast rabbit and chips, rabbit burgers, rabbit hot dogs, samosas, and pies—all of which have been well received by Zimbabwean consumers and plans to export to the regional markets.

“We plan to export value-added rabbit meat products into the regional markets to generate the much-needed foreign currency for the country,” Nyamakanga said.

To make these products more accessible, Raymeg plans to open two new restaurants in Mufakose and Dzivarasekwa, Harare, offering these rabbit delicacies directly to local communities.

Raymeg owns a rabbit grill and restaurant in Waterfalls suburb in Harare.

Additionally, the company intends to expand its reach by appointing franchisees in major cities and towns across Zimbabwe, allowing more customers to enjoy their range of rabbit meat products.

Raymeg Consultants is a multifaceted company with interests in farming, manufacturing, strategic communications, real estate, and retail.

In Zimbabwe, the group continues to demonstrate its commitment to innovation and growth within the agricultural and food sectors, paving the way for rabbit meat to become a popular everyday protein of choice across the country.
