AMID in-house turmoil, Harare giants Caps United have snapped up left full-back Tawana Chikore, formerly with reigning Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions FC Platinum.
The 26-year-old defender signed a two-year contract with the club and is joining them as a free agent.
Chikore possesses a nimble left foot and could be a perfect replacement for the exciting Brandon Mpofu, who left the Green Machine to join town rivals, Dynamos, last month.
Previously, Chikore played for the Gweru-based side TelOne before joining FC Platinum and is undoubtedly a valuable addition to Llyod Chitembwe’s team ahead of the league season resumption today.
His agent, Kudakwashe Garufu confirmed the development yesterday.
“I can confirm that the deal has been concluded for my centre back. We signed a two-year contract with Caps United and I am optimistic that he will do extremely well there,” he said.
“He (Chikore) was with FC Platinum last year and he had a brief stint in South Africa. He was supposed to go to Malaysia, but things didn’t work out due to the pandemic so we decided that he comes back home.”
