Following the appointment of the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (Zacc) by President Robert Mugabe, we all thought it was a positive move towards weeding out graft and abuse of State funds by public officers and top government and parastatal officials.

But suddenly the turn of events has left citizens confused. If the findings of Zacc can be overridden by power, where someone implicated can be pardoned by the higher office, we see no reason why this commission was founded, because it is corruption or abuse of funds to launch the commission, which will then be told not to do the job it was mandated for.
Look at what is happening in neighbouring South Africa, where the Public Protector left no stone unturned since there is no one above the law.
If you go to the lower courts, you hear small cases of people stealing as little as $200 going to jail, but we have cases of the disappearance of $15 billion just swept under the carpet.
Please let us not politicise our judiciary system which has been the best in the southern region.
