The School Development Committee chairman Dickson Zhou confirmed the incident, saying receipt books, computers and desks in the bursar’s office were reduced to ashes in the attack which took place around 8pm.

“The headmaster of the school called me about the fire which we suspect was caused by a petrol bomb. It destroyed a lot of things but we are yet to ascertain how much was destroyed in the fire,” he said.

Zhou said he was not yet sure what could have motivated the attack on the institution’s offices.

Police detectives were this afternoon still combing the area, although they remained tight-lipped over the matter.
