Tawanda Muyendi scored a hat-trick as Triangle hammered Dongo Sawmills in an exciting Castle Lager Premier League match at Gibbo Stadium in Triangle, yesterday.

Praise Tonha and Pascal Manhanga scored the other two with Blessing Dzumbunu scoring the visitors’ solitary goal.
The heavy loss also confirmed Dongo Sawmills’ relegation and coach, Shadreck Magurasave’s refused to talk to the Press after the match.
Although Dongo Sawmills put up a brave fight in the first half, with the two teams going to the break tied with a goal apiece, they succumbed to a second half blitz krieg that completely blew them away.
The win was also Kelvin Kaindu’s first home win in the second half of the season.
Muyendi opened the flood gates in the sixth minute, but Dzumbunu equalised in the 35th minute in a balanced first half. Triangle came back with more purpose with Muyendi doubling the score in the 49th minute.

Dongo were on the ropes and it was a matter of time before they gave in again, as wave after wave of Triangle raids bombarded them. They conceded a penalty and Tonha stepped up to slot home Triangle’s third in the 58th minute.
A brilliant Muyendi completed his deserved hat-trick 11 minutes later. Manhanga put the final nail on Francis Dongo’s side in extra time.
“It’s a sweet victory, we hadn’t won a home game in the second round,” Kaindu said after the match.
