A HARARE man, who allegedly battered his parents and two other family members, accusing them of giving away goat testicles, which he considered a delicacy, yesterday appeared in court facing assault charges.

Livingstone Mabvudzi denied the charges when he appeared before magistrate Vongai Muchuchuti. He was remanded in custody to Monday for trial.

The “delicacy’ had been hewn off a beast slaughtered during his daughter’s marriage ceremony held at the family home earlier on.

The court heard that on Monday last week, Mabvudzi went beserk and assaulted his father, Cornelius Mabvudzi (76), his mother, Merjury (72), aunt, Martha Mutsvanga (65) and his sister Whitney for allegedly offering the goat testicles to their neighbours.

On the day in question, Mabvudzi is said to have confronted his mother and shouted obscenities accusing her of being a prostitute.

Mabvudzi allegedly proceded to hold her by the collar and ordered her to go to her rural home.

He allegedly turned on other family members and assaulted them over the missing “delicacy”.
