Kamusoko, one of the 2014 Castle Lager Soccer Star of the Year finalists, has been training with Yanga and the club secretary-general Jonas Tiboroha confirmed grabbing the dreadlocked midfielder in the Tanzanian media.
“Kamusoko is one of the best players we have signed for the new season. I am optimistic that he’ll propel our team to higher heights of success,” Toboroha told The Citizen.
Kamusoko, a former Njube Sundowns and Dynamos midfielder, trained with the rest of the Young Africans’ squad at Kaunda Stadium in Dar es Salaam and has reportedly signed a two-year deal in what The Citizen described as a “lucrative switch”.
Young Africans, the 2014-15 Tanzania’s Vodacom-sponsored Ligi Kuu Bara champions, failed to make it to the group stages of the 2015 Caf Confederation Cup group stages after falling to Tunisia’s Étoile Sportive du Sahel in the round of 16, but have since qualified for next year’s Champions League and Kamusoko is ready for that challenge.
“I believe Yanga fans expect a lot from me, and to be honest I expect a lot from myself,” Kamusoko said.

“The same applies for the people who worked hard to bring me here. I’m really excited about joining Yanga because it is a team every good player would like to join in order to develop his career. When Hans Van Pluijm (coach) and Yanga leadership spoke to me about their ambitions for this club, and how they saw me as part of this team, the decision was clear.”
Kamusoko sees his move as an opportunity for him to win a Caf Champions League medal.
“Yanga fans want to see their team snatch the Caf Champions League title. I would like to be part of the generation that brings this trophy to the club. With the Mainland Premier League and the Caf Champions League, we’ll be going for it on both fronts. There are a lot of reasons for optimism. This club is very ambitious,” Kamusoko told the media in Tanzania.”
Yanga bundled out FC Platinum from the 2015 Caf Confederation Cup with a 5-2 aggregate win in April.
Striker Ngoma joined Young Africans last month and announced his arrival at Yanga with a goal on his debut and has scored two goals so far in pre-season friendly matches.
