It seems Gumbo’s work is clearly showing to others in the industry as her passion-driven supportive roles have clearly gone on demand in an industry full of talented and versatile people.
“I am very gratefully to have gained the trust of those whom I have worked with. I enjoy every new task and will be officially launching Tasarina (Chibaya)’s album Zvakarongeka within the next few months.
She said the album was currently out, with tracks being played on many radio stations and they would soon be touring and performing around the country.
Gumbo said she had been part of the arts industry for the past decade, managing six clubs — Stars, Ikon, Oblivion, Circus, Sting and Platinum Lounge — for four years. She said she decided to leave so she could work directly with artistes.
“I have worked on events which have brought in acts such as Mafikizolo, Loyiso Bala, Uhuru, to mention a few, and currently I am a personal assistant to my musician husband, Ba Shupi and Tasarina Chibaya as well as award-winning comedian Clive Chigubu,” she said.
She said she was a writer for the Hotel and Catering, a hospitality, business travel and lifestyle magazine. She is the country representative for My United Africa (MUA) magazine.
