Speaking during the handover of 14 Kia Picanto vehicles to Spar lucky winners in the capital last week, Smith said: “We will start next year to sell seven different models that we will import through South Africa. We hope to offer credit and cash sales for the vehicles.”

He added: “We cannot really give you the numbers because of competition.”

Smith said that Kia Motors was among the top brands in the motor vehicle field and it was established in 1944 in South Korea.

Kia Motors is the second largest automobile manufacturer in the world with 48 000 people under its employ.

Zimbabwe has a vehicle population of over one million cars with most of the cars being imports from Japan.
