According to a public notice published in the Press yesterday, the property — which includes a boom sprayer, 50-horsepower electric motor and 32 irrigation pipes — will go under the hammer on Saturday.

Chief Negomo got into the spotlight in 2011 after he publicly humiliated then Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai accusing him of paying bride price to his lover Lorcadia Karimatsenga in the Shona sacred month of November.

The traditional leader ordered Tsvangirai to pay two goats, two head of cattle and two sheep and a piece of cloth as a penalty for breaking traditional customs, but the MDC-T leader ignored the ruling and successfully challenged the order at the Bindura Magistrates’ Court.

Tsvangirai had allegedly paid bride price at Lorcadia’s parents’ plot in Christon Bank, Mazowe, an area which Chief Negomo claimed was under his jurisdiction. Chief Negomo could not be reached for comment yesterday.
